It may also be used to treat frequent heartburn, heartburn associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and indigestion. Nexium 24HR (esomeprazole) is a medication that helps to reduce stomach acid and indigestion. This medicine is for use in adults only. Do not take Nexium 24HR if you have had a stomach or duodenal ulcer, peptic ulcer, or acid reflux in the past, or if you have ever had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole or other esomeprazole products. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole or any other similar pain reliever/fever reducer (including indigestion). Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, are over 65 years of age, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are breast-feeding. This medicine may cause side effects. While you are taking this medicine, your doctor should be aware of any other side effects you may experience. Consult your doctor before taking any new medicine.
Do not take this medicine if you have ever had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole or other esomeprazole products. If you take Nexium Control 20mg Tablets as prescribed, provide information about the medicine in detail, including if you have any, kidney or liver disease, heart problems, or bowel problems, as these may be symptoms of GERD or acid reflux disease. If you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor as soon as possible.

Nexium 24HR is used for the management of various types of heartburn (oesophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and peptic ulcers). It can also be used for proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) for stomach ulcers. Nexium 24HR can also be used in combination with other PPI medications (omeprazole, lansoprazole) to reduce the risk of serious gastrointestinal side effects.
Take this medicine by mouth with or without food. Do not chew or crush the medicine. It is absorbed through the skin and should be swallowed whole without any further food. Nexium 24HR can be taken with or without food. Nexium 24HR is to be taken once daily. Do not take more than once per day. Nexium 24HR may cause stomach irritation. If symptoms persist or recur within 4-6 weeks of starting Nexium 24HR then please speak to your doctor as soon as possible. If symptoms worsen or recur after stopping Nexium 24HR then speak to your doctor.
Common side effects may include:
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to esomeprazole, lansoprazole or other proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), any of the ingredients of this medicine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than prescribed. Do not take it if you are using Nexium 24HR for the first time, or within 14 days of stopping it. Do not start using Nexium 24HR if you are hypersensitive to esomeprazole, lansoprazole, or any of its ingredients. Do not start using Nexium 24HR if you are pregnant, are breast feeding or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while using this medicine, then tell your doctor immediately. Do not use this medicine for longer than 14 days unless directed by your doctor. Nexium 24HR should not be used for more than 14 days in a row without medical advice. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had a stomach ulcer, or if you have ever had a peptic ulcer. If you have ever had a heart attack, then this medicine is also directed to be used for the treatment of your heartburn. Tell your doctor if you have had an allergic reaction to esomeprazole, lansoprazole, or other proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole, lansoprazole) in the past, or if you have ever had a stomach ulcer, or if you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. This medicine may harm the unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. This medicine may cause breathing problems.
How does the drug interact with Nexium 20 mg Tablet:Coadministration of Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed Diarrhea Can Lead to Gastrointestinal Issues
How to manage the interaction:Taking Nexium 20 mg Tablet with Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed Diarrhea may lead to difficulty in swallowing and can interact with the drug. If you are taking Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed Diarrhea, you may not be able to swallow it. If you have difficulty swallowing it, you should consult your doctor before taking it. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting your doctor.
Important information:It is important to take Nexium 20 mg Tablet during or soon after taking Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed Diarrhea. If you experience any symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) such as heartburn, regurgitation, stomach pain, or difficulty swallowing, call your doctor.
